About this Role:We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical discipline projects within the construction sector. This role supports bidding, budgeting, and project planning efforts by analyzing drawings, specifications, labor, materials, and subcontractor proposals. The position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for mechanical systems.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Develop cost breakdowns and support bid proposal preparation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate information.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and project review sessions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and value-engineering efforts.
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)8+ years of experience estimating mechanical discipline projects in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction methods
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- This role requires daily on-site presence at project or office locations.
- Travel to job sites may be required based on project needs.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with large-scale industrial or commercial mechanical projects
- Familiarity with cost databases and construction management platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
