Position offers an annual salary of $144,419.00.

What You Drive at DDC
- Detroit Diesel Corporation seeks a Cost Engineering Analyst III based out of our office in Detroit, Michigan 48239. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel per year. This position will lead cost planning structures. Determine bottom-up target costs of REC (Reference Calculation). Responsible for maintaining detailed knowledge of parts in scope, related technologies, materials, and production processes. Participate in cost avoidance and reduction activities based on bottom-up cost calculation according to the global Cost Engineering methodology supported by available systems. Proactively assess gaps between prices, purchasing and engineering, and align next steps and track the progress to close cost gaps. Set up cost engineering strategies to achieve short, intermediary, and long term savings. Support Purchasing department in negotiations and directly discuss cost gaps with suppliers. Collaborate with Engineering department to promote designs and help to avoid costly product changes. Support the creation of cost targets with a bottom-up approach for product projects. Verify savings potentials by benchmarking complex powertrain parts. Engage in tear downs and cost driver analysis for internal and external parts. Represent CE Team in cross functional project team meetings and provide cost transparency for the project lead and cross functions.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor6s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or its equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in Automotive and/or heavy truck industry.
- Experience must include 3 years in a Cost Engineering role and 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experience. Must have experience with: manufacturing process optimization and Siemens calculation software for generating cost calculations.
- 10% domestic and international travel required.
