Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in determining product costs, analyzing financial data, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires collaboration with various departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management initiatives.
What You'll Do- Cost Analysis:
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate product costs and variances to ensure accurate cost of goods sold.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, providing insights to management.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports for management review.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and reduce waste.
- PPV Analysis (Purchase Price Variance):
- Conduct PPV analysis to assess the impact of purchasing decisions on overall costs.
- Collaborate with procurement to evaluate vendor pricing and negotiate cost savings.
- Cost Roll-Up:
- Manage the cost roll-up process to ensure accurate product costing in financial statements.
- Update and maintain cost structures in accordance with changes in manufacturing processes or materials.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Assist in external audits and provide necessary documentation.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manufacturing Experience Preferred
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements
