Position Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Infrastructure Projects Specialist to support IT infrastructure projects at our mining operations. This role is responsible for managing multiple technology and infrastructure projects from planning through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

As an Infrastructure Projects Specialist, you will collaborate closely with operations teams, contractors, and IT staff to design and implement reliable technology solutions that support daily operations. This role combines project management, business analysis, and field coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working hands-on in the field, and driving projects to successful completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple IT infrastructure projects of varying scope and complexity, ensuring successful delivery within budget and schedule targets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute project activities using standard project management methodologies.
  • Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, and risks, and communicate updates regularly to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure information is shared appropriately with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage project deliverables and resolve issues that may impact progress.
  • Work with business units to understand operational needs and identify technology solutions that align with IT standards and policies.
  • Develop business cases and cost estimates for proposed technology solutions.
  • Present project plans and funding requests to stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction-related activities for IT infrastructure projects, including contractor selection and scope development.
  • Supervise field work to ensure activities are completed safely and in compliance with environmental and operational requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, site inspections, and contractor oversight during project execution.
  • Oversee daily operation of IT infrastructure systems at assigned sites, including backup power, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades with IT and facilities teams.
  • Ensure IT infrastructure remains reliable, secure, and operational at all times.


Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field preferred.
  • Project Management or IT-related certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Construction Management, Technical IT or Infrastructure Support, Business Analysis, Electrical or Maintenance Planning
  • Experience supporting projects involving infrastructure, facilities, or technology improvements preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, purchasing, and vendor management preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of structured cabling, electrical systems, instrumentation, or plant facilities operations preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and achieve results independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and drive projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and support site safety initiatives


Work Environment
  • Position is based at an active mining site.
  • May require travel to other regional mining locations as needed.
  • Work schedule is 4 days on, 10-hour shifts, with flexibility to support project requirements.
