  • The incumbent of this position will serve as the Corrections Assistant Warden 2 at Dixon Correctional Institute (DCI). Dixon Correctional Institute, a 2-A facility housing 1800 (Rated Capacity 1,924) adult male offenders of minimum, medium, and maximum security custody offenders, while the state houses additional offenders in local jail facilities, detention centers, and work release centers and employs over 475 individuals as well as numerous staff employed on a contractual or voluntary basis which includes.


Minimum Qualifications

Three years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises plus one of the following:

1. Six years of full-time experience in any field; or
2. A bachelor's degree.

OR

A master's degree plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; OR

A doctorate plus one year of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.

In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
  • Supervises and controls the inside movement of offenders, including initial assignment and transfers within the institution. Oversees the custody and control of offenders and staff assigned to specialized housing and programs. Makes administrative decisions regarding the transfer of offenders in the category of special security risk or for other security reasons.

    Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing for security. Administers the security, medical, treatment or administration programs or any combination of these programs at an adult correctional facility.
