This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Bureau of Security Operations.

The purpose of the Correctional Services Manager is to oversee and manage security operations, staffing, equipment procurement, and program initiatives to ensure effective security system functionality and support informed leadership decisions.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Supervise and evaluate the activities of Roster Management and Security systems operations, monitoring the various security audits and operational team reviews and ensure staffing analysis and audits are conducted.
  • Perform various levels of operational planning to potentially include, the opening and closing of facilities, facility mission changes and staffing requirements.
  • Responsible for precuring various security products and equipment for the Office of Institutions. Tests and evaluates new equipment and technology to provide comprehensive written assessments to leadership
  • Manges the oversight of Arsenal and Lock and Key databases.
  • Partners with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in relation to the Bulletproof Vest Grant program and background screening for contracted staff.
  • Responsible for pilot program tracking of the initiative progress/outcomes, providing data to assist leadership in making decisions related to future implementation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The incumbent in this position must either possess or be able to obtain and maintain the Florida Certified Contract Manager certification at the earliest opportunity offered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a shift supervisor or higher within the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) or another federal, state, or county correctional agency. (The shift supervisor ranks within FDC are Lieutenant and Captain. Other agency rank structures may differ and will be considered individually.)
  • Experience administering or conducting security audits and operational reviews in a correctional environment.
  • Experience with roster management systems, collecting, evaluating and analyzing data and using operational data base systems.
