Position OverviewNew York Life is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analytics & Insights professional to lead data-driven initiatives and provide actionable insights that support strategic business decisions. This individual will play a key role within the Service Experience Value Stream, partnering across Digital Services, Service Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to develop and execute a data-driven strategy that improves business performance, optimizes operations, and identifies growth opportunities.
Reporting to the Digital Services leader within the Service Experience Value Stream, this role will help establish a more data-centric operating model by leveraging analytics, business intelligence, and advanced statistical methodologies. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for transforming data into actionable business outcomes and influencing decision-making across a matrixed organization.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Analytics Leadership- Champion and socialize insights and recommendations informed by analytics to drive sustainable, long-term business value and enterprise-wide opportunities.
- Partner with Digital Services, Service Operations, Product Management, and executive leadership to identify business opportunities and support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Contribute to the evolution of analytics strategy by generating new ideas, influencing leadership discussions, and preparing executive-level presentations and recommendations.
- Drive adoption of analytics and data-based decision making across the organization through strong stakeholder engagement and partnership management.
Data Analysis & Insights- Lead the design and execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses to solve complex business challenges and deliver meaningful insights.
- Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and predictive modeling approaches to support business objectives.
- Translate technical findings into concise, easy-to-understand insights for business stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Develop and maintain key performance metrics and reporting frameworks to monitor organizational performance.
- Create dashboards to monitor and assess the performance drivers of processes and technology features.
Business Partnership & Execution- Collaborate with the COO organization, Service Operations leaders, Product Managers, and Technology partners to establish and manage ongoing business objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Monitor OKR performance and partner with leads to develop action plans to address performance gaps and optimize outcomes.
- Support Product Owners and Product Managers by providing analytical insights and data necessary for cost-benefit analyses and strategic investment decisions.
- Partner with Technology teams to understand New York Life's data ecosystem and determine optimal approaches for data access, governance, and utilization.
- Collaborate with analytics leaders across value streams to align methods, share best practices, and drive consistency in analytical approaches.
Project Leadership- Lead multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of analytics projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and business partners on analytical methodologies and best practices.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, data engineering, or related fields.
- 3+ years of people leadership and/or team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing large and complex data sets to solve business problems and drive measurable outcomes.
- Strong expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling techniques, including:
- Linear Regression
- Logistic Regression
- Generalized Linear Models (GLM)
- Survival Analysis
- Decision Trees
- Cluster Analysis
- Principal Components Analysis
- Feature Engineering and Model Validation
- Experience with advanced analytics tools and programming languages, including:
- SQL
- Databricks
- Python
- AWS Redshift
- R
- Spark
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, R Shiny, Power BI, Spotfire, or similar tools.
- Strong ability to synthesize information, develop insights, and communicate recommendations clearly through presentations, reports, and executive-level communications.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience applying advanced analytics within the life insurance, financial services, or broader insurance industry.
- Knowledge of life insurance products, operations, and customer experience processes.
- Experience with predictive analytics and machine learning solutions in large enterprise environments.
- Experience using GitHub and modern data development practices.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and driving enterprise-wide adoption of data-driven decision making.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Job Level: LEVELPF5Pay TransparencySalary Range: $119,000-$170,000

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
