Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of the Company's Safety Program.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Monitor industry best practices and recommend program enhancements when necessary.
  • Maintain required safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Develop annual safety goals, objectives, and performance metrics.


Training & Development

  • Develop and conduct safety training programs for all levels of employees and management.
  • Facilitate new hire safety orientation programs.
  • Conduct periodic refresher training and certification programs.
  • Train managers and supervisors on safety expectations, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Develop training materials, presentations, and safety communications.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and other field-based training initiatives.


Store & Site Inspections

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections of all company locations.
  • Perform comprehensive audits of operational practices, equipment, facilities, and employee compliance.
  • Identify safety deficiencies and communicate corrective action requirements.
  • Ensure deficiencies are corrected within established timelines.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to verify compliance.
  • Evaluate emergency preparedness procedures and site-specific safety programs.


Compliance & Enforcement

  • Enforce compliance with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Hold employees and leadership teams accountable for maintaining established safety standards.
  • Issue recommendations for corrective actions when safety violations occur.
  • Partner with operational leadership regarding disciplinary actions involving safety violations when necessary.
  • Monitor compliance with required certifications, training requirements, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure all locations are operating in accordance with Company expectations and applicable regulations.


Incident Management

  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and safety-related incidents.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans.
  • Prepare detailed incident investigation reports and recommendations.
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and incidents.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Risk Management, and operational leadership regarding accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in workers' compensation investigations when applicable.


Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with operations leadership to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Serve as the Company's subject matter expert on safety-related matters.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership regarding safety performance metrics, compliance issues, and program effectiveness.
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Travel Requirements

This position requires frequent overnight travel throughout the Company's operating locations. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
