Compensation: $77,000 - $87,000 annually

Schedule: Full time exempt, primarily Monday - Friday during standard business hours

Location: 37 Grove St., San Francisco

Position Overview: The Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for developing and growing strong relationships with corporations to increase annual corporate funding for Compass' work and build lasting philanthropic partnerships. This is a hands-on position requiring a positive attitude, excellent organizational and communication skills, clear understanding of and experience in relationship building and moves management, the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, and the discipline to manage data effectively. This person works collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, prospects, and donors.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead Compass' corporate relations strategy, developing and executing annual plans to grow corporate revenue, strengthen existing partnerships, and build a robust pipeline of new partners.
  • Meet annual corporate fundraising goals by growing existing partnerships, securing new corporate support, and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective partners.
  • Independently manage a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects through all stages of cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal.
  • Lead meetings, presentations, site visits, and solicitations with corporate partners and prospects, engaging the Director of Development, executive leadership, Board members, and other colleagues strategically as needed.
  • Set individualized moves management strategies for corporate partners and prospects, proactively identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and increase support.
  • Drive corporate prospecting efforts, identifying, researching, qualifying, and cultivating companies aligned with Compass' mission and funding priorities.
  • Develop, solicit, steward, and renew comprehensive corporate partnerships, creating tailored proposals and engagement opportunities across philanthropic giving, sponsorships, employee engagement, volunteerism, workplace giving, and in-kind support to deepen relationships and grow corporate investment in Compass.
  • Partner with the Institutional Giving team to develop coordinated strategies for corporations with foundation or grantmaking opportunities.
  • Maintain strong records in Salesforce and create and manage dashboards to track revenue, pipeline, retention, and engagement metrics, using data to evaluate performance and inform strategy.
  • Monitor corporate philanthropy and employee engagement trends and identify new opportunities to strengthen Compass' corporate fundraising program.
  • Assist with events, in-kind deliveries and other work as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate relations, fundraising, volunteer management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with donors, corporate partners, volunteers, or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of corporate and community partners.
  • Experience with donor or constituent databases/CRMs; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, projects, deadlines, and events simultaneously.
  • Comfortable using data to track progress, manage prospects and relationships, and evaluate results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling outreach and partnership materials.
  • Proactive, collaborative self-starter who can work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience recruiting, coordinating, or engaging volunteers.
  • Commitment to Compass Family Services' mission.

  • Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for volunteer activities and special events.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $77,000 - $87,000 annually
  • Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave.
  • Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long term disability and life insurance.
  • Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests during years 2-6.
  • Membership in OPEIU/Local 29 union.

Additional Details:
  • Office location: 37 Grove St., San Francisco, less than a block from Civic Center BART/MUNI station.
  • Fully in person for the first three months
  • Option to move to one remote day weekly after first three months pending manager approval
