Full Job Description
Title: Corporate Paralegal

Location: Austin, TX / Dallas, TX / Morristown, NJ (Hybrid)

Reporting to: General Counsel

About You:

You are an insurance legal professional with experience in insurance holding company regulatory filings, corporate governance, licensing, and compliance support. You are exceptional at handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines, and have the judgment to escalate when needed. You are able to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to the various departments, think proactively as to what needs to be done next, and are detailed oriented. You are open to collaborating and contributing when necessary, taking on various roles as needed.

What You'll Do:
  • Corporate Governance, Records Management and Reporting: Manages the tracking, organizing and filing of contracts, legal documents, and correspondence. Assist with corporate governance matters, including preparing meeting agendas, minutes, maintaining records, and supporting board activities
  • Administrative and Compliance Support: Provides administrative support including, opening and coordinating mail. Serves as backup for compliance team and helps ensure that data reporting and communications with regulatory authorities are timely completed as needed. Sends complaints to program and claims administrator as needed
  • Service of Process Management: Receives, inputs, and sends out lawsuits and subpoenas to appropriate program or claims administrator. Maintain service of process log
  • Holding Company Support: Independently draft and files insurance holding company filings, such as Form Bs, Ds, etc. Responsible for maintaining insurance company officers and director biographies as required by any regulatory authority. Completes all applications and responds to inquiries from any regulatory authority relating to the application and renewal of our insurance company entities
  • Ability to perform basic legal research, writing and analysis
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and to effectively prioritize work
  • Exemplify collegiality, efficiency, proactivity and curiosity
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work in a fast paced environment

Must Haves:
  • 5 + years of experience in related and relevant area in an insurance company (P&C preferred)
  • Bachelors degree
  • Intellectually curious and willing to dive into a number of projects
  • Strong organizational skills with a particular attention to detail while managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
  • Demonstrated knowledge of holding company, corporate governance principles, and regulatory compliance
  • Technical ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technologies and platforms

The Morristown, NJ base pay range for this role is $99,000 - $148,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs and market demands.
