Description

The ideal applicant for this role will:
  • Have a mechanical aptitude and understand different types of maintenance on commercial vehicles (specifically chassis, body, and engine)
  • Have a high proficiency for analyzing/mining data and creating Microsoft Excel documents as well as the utilization of other Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Preferably have a very broad knowledge of WM Fleet processes, procedures, and vehicles
  • Preferred documented history in Compass of recovering $200,000 to $400,000/annually from documented WM warranty claims
    Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM Central Standard Time

I. Job Summary

Based out of the Corporate Office, the Fleet Manager - Parts/Warranty will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's parts master providing the most efficient use of part identification and procurement compliance. This will include a renewed emphasis on replacement parts warranty and Fleet specified parts used.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
  • Works to improve the Warranty management systems and processes.
  • Reviews warranty data, understands failure modes, and develops corrective action plans for high failure rate components.
  • Develops comprehensive cost-effective warranties for WM.
  • Adheres to processes to help WM sites identify warranty opportunities within maintenance systems.
  • Work with the technical teams and Fleet Procurement teams to develop an automated accurate asset warranty coverage profile for the WM assets.
  • Achieves warranty-related goals implemented by Corporate.
  • Maintains continuous communication with OEMs, including direct submission and management of warranty claims within OEM warranty systems to ensure timely resolution and reimbursement.
  • Trains Area teams on the CWP (Centralized Warranty Process) as needed and upon request, ensuring consistent understanding, compliance, and execution across the organization.
  • Attends OEM warranty training to maintain required certifications and enable accurate submission of warranty claims on behalf of WM.
  • Provides systemic issue analysis and purchase recommendations to the WM Director of Equipment Performance, based on the consistency, responsiveness, and overall quality of warranty and goodwill support received from chassis, engine and body OEMs.


III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 7 years to 10 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).


B. Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience (Green Belt or higher)


C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Self-Starter with strong communication skills with ability to lead and influence others.
  • Working financial knowledge.
  • Process oriented Team Builder.

    Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day;
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds rarely;
  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) rarely;
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;
  • Normal setting for this job is: office setting.
  • 25% Travel is required.


Pay: The expected base pay range for this position across the US is $88,000 - $110,000/yearly. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
