Full Job Description
The Role:

Apryse is looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join the corporate development team and be a key contributor in driving inorganic growth through the sourcing and execution of M&A initiatives and strategic partnerships. The role will require conducting industry research on adjacent markets, financial modelling, valuation analyses, due diligence, creation of strategic presentations & recommendations, acquisition/partnership term sheets and contract negotiations. The Senior Associate will report to the VP Corporate Development, engage frequently with Apryse's executive leadership team, and combine elements of strategy, M&A, and transaction management in an innovative and fast-moving technology environment. The ideal candidate is an innovative, creative, analytical and strategic thinker, who enjoys solving complex problems, and works effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, constantly evolving setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Originate and screen acquisition targets that meet Apryse's strategic criteria.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition targets aligned with the Company's long-term goals and M&A strategy.
  • Evaluate potential acquisition targets with a focus on tech/strategic fit, financial performance, retention metrics and applying appropriate valuation methodologies.
  • Support due diligence work streams for all stakeholders to closing and contribute to integration planning and reporting.
  • Prepare pro-forma financial models for acquisitions, including complex cash flow modelling and various scenario analyses.
  • Assist in preparation of internal discussion documents and board materials for M&A opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a keen awareness of tech market landscape, including emerging startups, AI trends, market shares, competitive positioning and evolving business models.
  • Present views effectively and in a compelling manner, and adapt approach to specific target audiences.
  • Learn and maintain an in-depth understanding of Apryse's business, including Apryse's products and service capabilities, competitive advantages, customer/market areas, competitors, to enable effective involvement as part of the corporate development team at Apryse.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in finance, business, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture investing in technology sectors, or broad business experience.
  • Experience identifying, developing, analyzing, and successfully executing M&A transactions end-to-end.
  • Tech-savvy, entrepreneurial attitude with a passion for working in a fast-paced technology company.
  • Highly effective problem solver with strong business, commercial and financial acumen, analytical and strategic thinking with excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail with very strong research, financial modelling and analytical abilities.
  • Strong teamwork with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Personable and approachable relationship builder with solid communication skills, capable of establishing and building rapport remotely with acquisition targets.
  • Expertise in creating business cases and conducting company and industry due diligence to support investment or strategic business development activities.
  • Good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities, with a natural consultative style.
  • Passionate about technology, with a deep understanding of tech landscape and key trends.
  • Highly organized and able to self-motivate and work independently in an autonomous environment.
