Full Job Description
Overview

The Corporate Counsel will play an integral role in providing legal support for the organization's North American rental operations and the related corporate support groups. The successful candidate will collaborate with legal colleagues and business stakeholders across multiple global lines of business with a strong focus on negotiating contracts, providing legal analysis and tailored advice based upon an understanding and application of business operations. Primary responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, editing and negotiating a broad range of agreements, regulatory review and comparative analysis, and providing concise guidance on general corporate and preventative law initiatives along with management of outside counsel.

This is a fantastic role for a candidate looking to join a driven and dynamic team and develop their career in an industry-leading in-house legal function. With the convergence of mobility solutions, the advent of internet-connected vehicles and roll-out of alternative fueled and electric vehicles, the next five years hold the potential to re-write the landscape in traditional vehicle mobility. As the industry evolves, we'll be embracing new types of business that will require lawyers who are comfortable learning and advising on new areas and coming up with creative solutions to the issues of the day.

This role will require someone that can think through problems, navigate the legal and regulatory environment, and find ways to facilitate change. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with business stakeholders and colleagues in the Legal Group, in their areas of expertise, in Europe, the UK and North America, working on projects globally as part of these cross-departmental functional teams. The selected individual must be collaborative, creative, efficient, personable and results-oriented - with outstanding oral and written communication abilities and the ability to work seamlessly in a fast-paced, team environment.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO, with an in-office schedule.

Enterprise offers an excellent benefits package with market-competitive pay, comprehensive healthcare packages, 401k matching & profit sharing, schedule flexibility, paid time off, and organizational growth potential.

Compensation decisions will be made based on factors that include but are not limited to experience, education, location and skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, review and prepare a wide variety of agreements, including services agreements, supply agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, and various other commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate across all functions to develop and update policies, practices and procedures.
  • Advise management and operating personnel of judicial and regulatory developments affecting potential legal exposures and compliance obligations of the company. Address potential compliance and legal issues to mitigate risks and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage relationships and consult with external stakeholders, including external legal counsel, regulators and business partners.
  • Appropriately assess risk on business matters, demonstrating consideration for safeguarding the company, its employees and assets.

In addition to these job functions, candidates will also need to display proficiency in the following Competencies:
  • High level of professionalism and integrity; strong ethical standards
  • Collaborative skills set and work ethic
  • An understanding and sensitivity to maintaining confidential information
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team and agility and judgment to balance multiple requests and competing priorities

  • Effective team player
