Corporate and Trust Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. We are a highly respected leader in our field and ranked as one of the top construction firms in the Northeast.
This is a newly created position established to support the continued growth of both the company and the tax department. As our organization expands, this role will play an important part in supporting evolving business needs, enhancing operational efficiency, and contributing to the department's long-term success.
The Corporate and Trust Senior Tax Accountant supports the organization's tax compliance and reporting functions. This role requires working knowledge of Corporation, S Corporation, Partnership, and Trust taxation as well as the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure accurate, timely filings in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities: - Prepare trust tax returns.
- Prepare C Corporation, S Corporation, and Partnership tax returns.
- Ensure all filings are accurate and compliant with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Calculate and prepare federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments for trusts and corporate entities.
- Research tax issues and interpret tax laws to support ongoing compliance.
- Respond to tax-related correspondence and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Maintain the company's tax database and records to ensure accurate, organized documentation.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, legal, shareholders, family members, and external advisors to meet deadlines.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or master's degree in accounting or taxation or related field.
- Minimum 4-7 years of professional tax experience.
- Experience with trust and estate returns are required.
- Experience with C Corporations, S Corporations & Partnerships tax returns a plus.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to confidential information.
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload to meet reporting deadlines.
