THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
  • Join the corporate accounting team of a large, growing organization with a significant national presence and thousands of employees across North America
  • Work closely with the broader Finance organization, executive management, and operating company accounting teams
  • Lead and develop a corporate accounting team that currently includes one direct report

  • Own the accounting for the company's corporate entities, including the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reporting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain the integrity of the corporate general ledger and oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, debt, intercompany activity, and other corporate-level transactions
  • Prepare corporate financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Manage, develop, and provide direction to the corporate accounting team
  • Support treasury activities, company-wide cash forecasting, and preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and footnotes
  • Champion process improvement, automation, and adoption of technology and systems to improve efficiency and data integrity

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant corporate or industry accounting experience
  • Experience taking ownership of the accounting for one or more entities or business units
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial close processes
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
  • Experience with monthly and annual financial close processes
  • Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and identify and resolve issues
  • ERP, multi-entity, and accounting process automation experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
