This position will be working onsite from Miami.

Position Summary:

Our Senior Copywriter, Social Media will play a key role in Royal Caribbean International creative direction across all brand social media channels, working across marketing and content goals that

accurately reflect the creative vision and quality associated with our brand.

The ideal candidate possesses an expert level of pitching, editing and evolving brand copy & messaging from conception to completion and ensuring consistent application of brand tone and personality and brand standards. Equally, the ideal candidate is deeply knowledgeable about social trends, and has a keen ability to create relevancy for brands through messaging.

The Senior Copywriter, Social Media will work closely with an in-house team of editors, producers, copywriters and content creators and other teams across Brand and Marketing, and should demonstrate comfortability providing copy direction and support for all social media team members and assigned projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Competent written storyteller across traditional and short-form formats & platform with extensive experience with brand POV in owned, paid and earned.
  • Responsible for reviewing messaging and copy for social concepts and partnering with the creative team to build messaging and framework of creative ideas for a range of social deliverables.
  • Drive brand consistency through ongoing development and implementation of social guidelines for copy/tone.
  • Ability to understand, identify, and apply relevant social trends (copy, video and audio) across platforms, markets and audiences.
  • Review copy and messaging through the lens of the business needs, strategic team goals, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Partner with key stakeholders devise and drive business strategies through creative work, tone of voice and copy execution.
  • Has exceptional time management and thorough knowledge and understanding of processes and the time required for projects.
  • Collaborate with creative team members to ensure cohesion between script & visual plan

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Minimum of BA in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5-7 years writing experience in advertising or related field, developing content in creative agencies or branding spaces with strategic business acumen skills; prefer a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success with driving high-performing content slates in a cruise, travel or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills and superior knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; clear and concise communication, commitment to producing quality product; deadline conscious.
  • Familiarity with social media and executing against content strategies across global channels and collaborating with marketing partners to successfully drive content management and implement best practices.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, passionate self-starter with a focus on delivery of excellence, a can-do attitude and a sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; enjoys working in cross-functional & global teams under aggressive deadlines, in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong conceptual and proficiency in presenting work to peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced listening, verbal and written communication skills, including experience in creating, writing, researching, and managing content in multiple formats.
  • Ability to communicate openly and proactively with meticulous attention to detail.
