OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: The Structural Heart Coordinator is a registered nurse who will be accountable for the effective management and coordination of care of patients primarily being evaluated for transcatheter aortic valve and or mitral valve repair and other structural heart procedures. The Structural Heart Coordinator will collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgical team, other structural heart coordinators and clinical staff of multiple departments, including but not limited to scheduling, insurance and billing, cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology lab and additional ancillary services as required to coordinate the care of cardiovascular patients who are being evaluated and selected for structural heart procedures through their pre and post-procedure care. The coordinator will triage patient symptoms both in the clinic and on the phone, including nursing assessment, problem identification, planning, reporting of complex clinical data to the appropriate cardiologist and implementation of the patient's plan of care as directed by the cardiologist.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Education: Bachelors
- Licenses/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse (Illinois); BLS (AHA)
- Experience: 2 years cardiac experience
- Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Coordinator may travel between the clinic and the hospital
