About the role:

Reporting to the Health and Safety Supervisor, the Coordinator, Safety & Loss Control is responsible for the administration and coordination of site safety programs. This position will be dedicated to being a resource for Line creek operating groups, focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors. This role will operate on a 5x2 schedule rotation.

To be successful, we require someone with a passion for continuous improvement who can multitask, stay organized, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment. This person is self-motivated, and possesses strong attention to detail, and problem-solving and decision-making abilities. This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability to know your audience, thus presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to improve health and safety performance
  • Advise, coach, and support the workforce to ensure proper fatal hazard protocols are implemented, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled
  • Coordinate and administer the following safety systems and programs: Incident Reporting System, internal and external site tours, HSEC assurance audits, inspections, contractor management, and visual field leadership activities
  • Support the effective implementation of EVR's Health & Safety Management System, SafeCoal


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Working knowledge of applicable HSRC regulations or similar
  • Experience in practical and theoretical safety and loss control in mining or other heavy industrial environment is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent


$83,000 - $103,000 a year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
