Immediate Superior: The Director of Pedagogical Services
NATURE OF THE WORKThe coordinator of Professional and External Services will coordinate internal professional services and those delivered by external partners for students with special needs. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting clinical files and reports, providing clinical guidance on complex student dossiers, and supervising professionals who are members of professional orders. You will also provide leadership for student difficulty coding, assistive technology, adapted transportation and external placements.In addition, you will be required to:
- Supervise speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, counsellors in reeducation, and other professional staff, and coordinate the professionals' PIC;
- Coordinate ACES (Administrators of Complementary Educational Services), multidisciplinary school teams and the Resource Teacher Network;
- Oversee difficulty coding, K4 and K5 derogations, modifications and exemptions, and review external, academic, medical and neuropsychological reports;
- Coordinate Assistive Technology Measure 30810 and literacy and numeracy supports;
- Organize placements and follow up with external schools and specialized programs, liaising with schools, families and partners;
- Liaise with the Transportation Department on adapted plans for students with specialized needs;
- Implement student crisis prevention protocols and act as the CISSS liaison for Laval, Laurentides and Lanaudière;
- Represent the school board on MSSS, MEQ and LCEEQ committees and collaborate with the Assistant Director on professional services and special needs dossiers.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS - Must be a clinician and a member in good standing of a professional order in psychology, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology;
- Mastery of the English and French languages;
- Valid driver's licence.
