JOB TITLE: Coordinator of NightLife REPORTS TO: Administrative Director of College and Career Readiness LOCATION: Districtwide JOB DESCRIPTION: The Worcester Public Schools' (WPS) NightLife program supports lifelong learning for the Worcester community through a wide selection of community class offerings, and by acting as a workforce development hub for careers in high demand industries. WPS is seeking a dynamic, innovative and organized professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within and for the greater Worcester community to support life-long learning. This position is accountable for overseeing, staffing, and promoting all NightLife programs in the Worcester Public Schools, including hiring, supervising, and evaluating instructors and program staff. The Coordinator will work with other WPS programs that provide adult and/or evening services to support and augment their work. The NightLife program operates out of Worcester Technical High School and the Coordinator will work closely with administrators at WTHS and the District to plan, develop and implement programs to serve students, employers, and the community. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Responsible for researching, developing, implementing and maintaining programming relevant to the diverse needs of the Worcester community. - Responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating NightLife instructors and program staff. - Responsible for working with business, industry and community agencies to develop and/or enhance the delivery of NightLife workforce development programs. - Responsible for identifying, writing, and managing grants that support NightLife programming, including oversight of grant budgets, deliverables, and reporting requirements. - Responsible for coordinating all fiscal responsibilities connected to programs, including budget development, self-audits, and response to external audits. - Responsible for all marketing and promotional activities for NightLife so that Worcester residents can be aware and informed as to the courses, services and programming offered by the Worcester Public Schools. - Responsible for managing evening facility rentals of WTHS shop spaces, and for coordinating related logistics with shop staff and outside partners. - Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of state regulations and registration/licensure requirements for programs including Plumbing, Electrical, CCMA, CNA, and HVAC, and for ensuring program compliance. - Responsible for all student documentation and record-keeping associated with state-regulated licensure programs (Plumbing, Electrical, CCMA, CNA, HVAC). - Responsible for maintaining Veterans Administration documentation and compliance in accordance with federal grant requirements. - Responsible for work with other WPS administrators, including but not limited to administrators in the Adult Learning Center, Evening School, Innovation Career Pathways program and Worcester Technical High School to develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive menu of NightLife activities that supports the work of the district and its programs. - Responsible for serving on all appropriate committees. - Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, natural origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability; and to ensure reasonable accommodation and compliance with all ADA regulations. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree - Experience working with community-based enrichment and basic adult education programs - Experience hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff - Experience writing and/or managing grants, including budget oversight and compliance reporting - Ability to manage projects including multiple programs, physical locations, and staff - Ability to develop and oversee programs that are relevant and appropriate to the community. - Experience with case management, job readiness training and job placement. - Business and accounting skills to plan and manage a budget, conduct self-audits, and respond to external audits in a timely and accurate manner - Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, state regulatory and licensure requirements for career/technical programs (e.g., Plumbing, Electrical, CCMA, CNA, HVAC) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's Degree - Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Albanian, or an African language - Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disabilities - Demonstrated experience supporting second language acquisition - Familiarity with Veterans Administration documentation requirements under federal education grants WORK YEAR: Student school year plus fifteen (15) additional days in the summer to be scheduled by supervisor. WORK DAY: 7.5 hours consisting of 7 hours of work and .5 unpaid lunch break for a total of 35 hours/week. The Director is expected to be on-site during programming hours and to attend other meetings during the day, as needed; therefore the typical work day will be 3:00pm to 10:00pm or similar. SALARY: $97,000-$125,000
