EHS CoordinatorLocation: Raleigh, NC preferred.
Candidates based near company offices in Charlotte, NC or Charleston, SC may also be considered.
Compensation: $40.00 per hour
Travel: Approximately 50% throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This is a field-based position and is not remote. A car allowance will be provided. Rental vehicles may be used for travel exceeding 99 miles in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate environmental health and safety training, job-site inspections, project kickoff meetings, records, communications, and follow-up activities.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to provide field-based safety support across multiple job sites.
- Maintain accurate program, employee, incident, audit, corrective-action, and compliance documentation.
- Review submitted information for completeness and resolve routine documentation issues.
- Prepare recurring reports and summaries identifying open actions, safety trends, deadlines, and compliance concerns.
- Coordinate with employees, field leaders, branch management, customers, and functional partners to complete required safety activities.
- Support the implementation of approved environmental health and safety procedures, programs, and communications.
- Track corrective actions and escalate overdue or significant safety concerns to the appropriate leader.
- Participate in incident investigations, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other job-site safety activities.
- Identify recurring administrative or compliance gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Protect confidential employee and business information.
Qualifications:- Five or more years of environmental health and safety experience preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple job sites, projects, or geographic territories preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred. OSHA 500/510 or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
- Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
- A college degree is not required.
- Working knowledge of EHS coordination, inspections, documentation, incident reporting, corrective actions, and compliance processes.
- Ability to coordinate activities, validate documentation, and prepare routine safety reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve routine issues and escalate significant concerns appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple activities, locations, deadlines, and corrective-action records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
