Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in controls engineering, specifically automation machinery.
  • Proficient in Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC programming, including MicroLogix and RSLogix 5000.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE preferred) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and program electrical systems for high-tech automation machines.
  • Implement SCADA for effective data communications across machines.
  • Design and configure Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Troubleshoot and amend control systems for optimal performance.
  • Retrofit existing systems while integrating new control solutions.
  • Incorporate robotics and vision systems into automation processes.
  • Commission newly built machines and assist with service tasks.

Full Job Description
Seeking a Controls Engineer for a growing machine builder in the Holland, MI area. This is a direct hire position with minimal travel. Preferred candidates will have experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC Programming. Responsibilities for the Controls Engineer: - Controls integration and programming of electrical systems for new high-tech automation machines. - Use supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) for networking data communications between different machines. - Design and program Siemens, Allen Bradley PLC's, and HMI's. - Troubleshooting and modifying control systems to solve problems. - Integrate new control systems and retrofit existing systems. - Integrate robotics and vision systems. - Commissioning new machines and some service work. Requirements for the Controls Engineer: - Experience with Siemens PLCs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, MicroLogix, RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk, HMI, AutoCAD, and SCADA. - Experience with Data Control Systems. - A BSEE Degree is preferred, but may not be required. - Robotics and vision system experience is a plus. - Hands-on mechanical aptitude. - Troubleshooting skills. - Able to work independently as well as with a team. - Able to travel 10 - 15%. Mostly short trips during the week. Home on most weekends.
