The
Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring the plant is running smoothly and efficiently while also meeting quality standards. This role will design, implement and maintain processes that help manufactures increase productivity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages projects for safety, quality, productivity, asset reliability, process improvement, cost reduction and other business objective improvement.
- Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
- Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
- Design and program all requirements of assigned projects to maintain project schedules, design standards, customer specifications and quote requirements.
- Projects from initial concept and scope development through design, procurement, construction/installation and start-up.
- Provides instruction in operation, set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Suggest design or tooling revision prior to launch to ensure optimized process window, and quality assurance
- Heavily involved in continuous improvement plans across the manufacturing environment.
- Participate in the development of control policies and procedures and making recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Must ensure that all systems in processing and mechanical meet Minth corporate Best Practice standards
- Lead automation projects and continuous improvement activities
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience required
Minimum 7 years of experience with Manufacturing Process Controls required - Strong communication, project management, and organization skills required
- Global network and manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong cause and effect analytical abilities for problem solving
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop colleagues
- Must be well versed with process development for all old and new processes, as well as the implementation of the tools and equipment into the existing or "Greenfield" production facility
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to prepare written correspondence and presentations
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to handle shifting deadlines and priorities
- A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, including remote team members, to be proactive, to work independently of day-to-day supervision and show initiative
