Job Purpose

As a Controls Engineer II, you will design, develop, and implement solutions that control dynamic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop and implement control specifications based on customers' requirements.
  • Evaluates and develops Guidance/ Autonomous controls and Artificial Intelligence technologies for CNHi vehicles.
  • Define performance level requirements of systems (machine level) and subsystems (component level) including sensors.
  • Derive dynamic models, select appropriate control algorithms, simulate, rapid prototyping, and tuning of controls.
  • Use design tools for controls development and data analysis to troubleshoot problems.
  • Work with cross functional hardware, software, and product validation teams as well as suppliers for development of new sensors.
  • Work across multiple engineering disciplines and development teams to coordinate system definition, design, and integration.
  • Responsible for individual product design alignment with multi-product architectural strategy
  • Work with product verification and validation, and/ or customers to ensure system and components perform as needed


Experience Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or related technical field with 2+ years of experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in linear controls (classical and state space)/system engineering
  • Minimum of 1+ years in non-linear controls (e.g. Back stepping, Sliding mode)
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience with Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning preferred.
  • Design and development experience in Autoguidance and Autonomous controls
  • Experience in real-time rapid control prototyping (dSpace, xPC target, NI etc.)
  • Experience with online vehicle calibration (Control Desk, INCA, Vector tools etc.)
  • Experience in developing Adaptive controls
  • Experience working on agriculture and/ or construction equipment
  • Knowledge in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools


Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is $86,625 - $132,825 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
