As a Controls Engineer at Hydro-Gear, you will use your controls skills and your project management capabilities to succeed in deploying and integrating line automation improvements. In addition, this role will actively search for ways to improve efficiency and reliability of the assembly processes. * Please note, we are not able to consider candidates who currently or in the future will require visa sponsorship. Job Type: First Shift Full-Time located in Sullivan IL Pay: Salary and Commensurate with experience Benefits: Link for Benefits and Pay Range or copy the following into a browser https://www.hydro-gear.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Controls-Engineer_Illinois.pdf Core Responsibilities of our Controls Engineer: - Design, program, and support automated manufacturing systems - Work with robots and PLCs to operate and optimize production equipment - Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities - Maintain accurate documentation, wiring diagrams, and PLC standards - Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and improve efficiency Requirements - 2+ years of experience in electrical controls - 5+ years related experience/training or bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience working with Axis Robots, SCARA Robots and PLC's - Knowledge of applicable codes such as NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
