Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Engineering Manager II

Optimizes the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

The work model for the role is onsite.

This role is contributing to the success of the Portland, TN ABB Installation Products facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and install modern innovative manufacturing equipment to facilitate high volume production of a variety of products.
  • Provide programming, debug and testing controls support with automated systems, and implement updates and/or optimize existing equipment.
  • Provide high level technical support to the maintenance department.
  • Interface with other departments concerning equipment improvements, and facilitate internal training programs.
  • Document programs and publish reports on internal projects.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in automated technologies (PLC's, HMI's, VFD's, SCADA and Robotics). PLC logic troubleshooting, Allen Bradley experience preferred.
  • Experience in 2D/3D CAD, Inventor and/or Solidworks preferred
  • Trained in electricity, hydraulics, fabrication, plastics and electronic controls
  • PC experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Must have adequate interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and demonstrate a working relationship with both internal & external customers.
