TDX develops and distributes a comprehensive line of typing and antibody detection products, laboratory instrumentation, computer software, and clinical laboratory services that are used to help match patients and donors before transplant, monitor patients post-transplant, and advance research in the transplantation space.

DESCRIPTION

With a keen understanding of laws, regulations, and compliance as well as reporting requirements consistent with USGAAP, this team uses innovative financial systems and controls, data security and robust processes to protect the company's assets and support its short- and long-term growth on a global scale. From technical accounting to budgeting and forecasting to planning and reporting, you will build relationships with internal and external audit teams as well as key business partners to drive sophisticated business decisions. You will have an opportunity to build strong organizational alliances to understand and mitigate risk, as well as capture opportunities and provide valuable support to all business partners.

Seeking a Senior Manager, Controller for the Transplant Diagnostics Division (TDx) within the Specialty Diagnostics Group who will provide controllership expertise, insights and business partnering leadership to a global team. Reporting to the Controller for SDG, you will lead a team and be the primary business partner for the Division Finance VP and TDx leadership team. This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify, and implement operational improvement opportunities and contribute to the development and execution of the business' annual strategic plan.

What you will do:

  • Own Division balance sheet, including US GAAP and local entity financial statement accuracy and responsible for understanding and communicating performance drivers for the Division/Group.
  • Responsible for Division revenue recognition and managing commercial stakeholders, while adhering to accounting policies.
  • Partner effectively with Group Controllership, Divisional Finance teams and Global Business Services to ensure timely and accurate monthly accounting close deliverables for consolidated reporting.
  • Analyze sophisticated transactions to determine financial statement impact and recording accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Analyze financial and business performance against key metrics and monitor pertinent financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against strategic objectives.
  • Drive strategies to improve Controllership efficiencies, and scalability, including driving close optimization activity, the application and execution of policy, process, and system governance.
  • Provide guidance on complex transactions/agreements/deals to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies, with clear communication on business implication.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment.
  • Effectively communicate financial results to senior leadership, draw insight from analysis, develop compelling, synthesized recommendations.

  • CPA or equivalent with 10+ years of accounting/finance experience in larger public, multinational organization is preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of GAAP is a must.
  • Application knowledge of ERP systems and Accounting Transactions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Proficient user of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis).
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills including ability to take an independent stance on positions across functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to elevate perspective at the appropriate time.
  • Challenges the status quo; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights and solutions to strengthen our performance.
  • Ability to connect, integrate, and synthesize analysis to drive clear strategic recommendations and enable commercial decisions.
  • Ability to parlay technical proficiencies to develop concise, clear, and accurate reporting and analytics; translate data to practical information (communicates openly, uses business acuity).
  • Ability to adapt to changings pressures or new information quickly.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
