Full Job Description
In this role, you will own accounting operations end to end: monthly close, revenue recognition, cost and inventory accounting, fixed-asset and fleet accounting, multi-entity consolidation, reserves, and internal controls. Build the close process, policies, and documentation that carry the company to audit- and eventually IPO-readiness. Manage the Staff Accountant; partner with the Director of Finance on FP&A and with Operations on inventory and fleet accounting.

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close on a published calendar with shrinking cycle time.
  • Establish and document revenue recognition policy for RaaS contracts (ASC 606/842 as applicable), including deployment, billing-suspension, and contract-modification treatment.
  • Own fleet accounting: capitalization policy, depreciation schedules, refurbishment treatment, disposition and impairment events.
  • Own inventory accounting: standard costs, E&O reserves, cycle-count reconciliation with Operations, and reporting against the inventory exposure cap.
  • Own multi-entity consolidation and intercompany accounting as the Mexico subsidiary activates; establish statutory compliance coordination with local providers.
  • Build the internal control environment and documentation toward audit-readiness; manage the external audit relationship.
  • Own the accounting workstream of the ERP transition, ensuring the chart of accounts, costing model, and controls survive the migration.
  • Manage and develop your team.

Requirements
  • 8+ years progressive accounting experience with 3+ years owning a close, ideally as Controller or Assistant Controller in a hardware, manufacturing, or asset-intensive company.
  • CPA required. Deep GAAP fluency in revenue recognition and fixed-asset accounting; cost accounting experience in an inventory-carrying business.
  • Experience building or substantially upgrading close processes and internal controls.
  • ERP proficiency at the administration level (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or national firm) preferred.

Preferred:
  • RaaS, leasing, or equipment-as-a-service revenue recognition (ASC 842 lessor or 606 service models).
  • Multi-entity and international consolidation, especially Mexico.
  • IPO-readiness or public-company reporting experience. ERP migration experience.
  • Startup or scale-up environment where the control environment was built, not inherited.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and equity in an early-stage robotics company
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision
  • Permissive time off policy
  • A small team where your work has direct, visible impact on shipped products
