Controller

Location: Reynoldsville, PA
Department: Finance
Reports to: Production Unit Manager

Position Overview

The Controller leads financial management and reporting for the operation, ensuring accurate results, effective controls, disciplined cost management, and clear financial insight for strategic decisions. This position oversees accounting, finance, and cost-control activities and partners closely with production, operations, and supply chain teams to align financial goals with manufacturing objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, profitability, and trends; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide management with financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and serve as a key contact for auditors.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital optimization, financial risk assessment, and relationships with banks and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee financial ERP systems, data integration, reporting, costing, process improvement, and automation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting, finance, and cost-control teams.
  • Collaborate across functions to support operational and financial performance.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree and/or related operations experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management role.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues.
  • Data analysis skills and experience.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously.
  • Flexible thinking and the ability to adapt when challenges require a new approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, financial analysis tools, and accounting software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
