Controller of Property Accounting to lead our growing property accounting team. This role oversees all aspects of property accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and compliance.

Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership for all property accounting operations.
- Lead and develop managers and accounting teams across multiple functional areas.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end financial closings and delivery of client financial statements.
- Establish, monitor, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard client assets.
- Partner with executive leadership and operational teams to improve financial performance and client service.
- Respond to accounting-related escalations from clients and operational leaders.
- Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and financial system access controls.
- Direct compliance activities related to client financial audits.
- Drive continuous process improvements, workflow automation, and technology initiatives.
- Champion the use of AI and innovative accounting technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and monitor departmental KPIs and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with accounting software vendors to enhance systems and processes.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including significant leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience leading multiple accounting functions and managing high-performing teams
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience overseeing financial audits and compliance activities
- Strong technology aptitude with experience implementing process improvements and automation
