Full Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Controller

DEPARTMENT: Finance

The Role:

This role is responsible for the accurate, and timely, recording of financial data in accordance with all regulatory requirements. As the owner of the financial books and records, the successful candidate will direct the preparation of the month-end and year-end close, consolidations, the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, and provide any/all information required for tax reporting/submission. In addition, the role is responsible for performing research on technical accounting issues, developing and implementing financial policies and procedures across the organization, and coordinating the review/audit of Ora's and its subsidiaries as required by all national and local authorities.

What You'll Do:
  • Direct the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or IFRS requirements for non-US entities where needed for Ora Inc. as well as all of its subsidiaries.
  • Manage all associated finance functions supporting the accounting including General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Treasury.
  • Ensure a properly operating set of systems, processes, and procedures to properly capture, track and report financial results, in accordance local accounting requirements and company policies.
  • Manage/direct the relationship with non-US financial and tax reporting entities that support Ora Inc. (eg. Findex - Australia; RSM - China; Oury Clark - UK; TMF Group - Japan).
  • Ensure a system of internal controls is in place, and operating, to ensure financial stewardship of the company.
  • Responsibilities may differ slightly from the above based on specific needs of the business.
  • Adhere to all aspects of Ora's quality system.
  • Adhere to all essential systems and processes that are required at Ora to maintain compliance to Ora's data integrity & business ethics and regulatory requirements.

What We Look For:
  • Experience needed for the Role:
    • CPA highly preferred.
    • 10+ years accounting experience.
    • Technical U.S. GAAP accounting/reporting experience including strong ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, and Investment Accounting knowledge
    • International Reporting Standards (eg. IFRS) exposure and/or experience with international business operations and reporting.
  • Additional Skills and Attributes:
    • Experience with Netsuite and/or ability to learn quickly and be a 'hands-on' Netsuite user is preferred
    • Ability to be a trusted business partner working directly with the business operations owners to help them understand and interpret the financial information is preferred
    • Ability to improve the efficiency of processes and procedures by collaborating with finance team and other areas as needed.
    • High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with all levels of management with consistency, enthusiasm and professionalism.

Benefit Eligibility: Full-time employees of Ora working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our per diem workforce is eligible for Medical and Dental coverage once they have hit 6 months of service and work an average of 30 hours per week.
