Full Job Description
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the Company's accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and operational analysis. This position also evaluates and ensures that the system of internal accounting controls is adequate, supports budget and forecast functions and provides analyses and recommendations to Senior Management.

Job Duties

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end accounting closes
  • Complete financial reporting and analyses within established timelines
  • Respond to executive inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting and analysis requests including maintaining client financials
  • Ensure accurate financial data is provided by the collection system. This includes accurate and timely posting of transactions, effective balancing and control procedures, and accurate and timely client reporting
  • Prepare annual budget, forecasts, and variance analysis by business segment
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audit, and provide accounting support for statutory and client audits
  • Manage operational cash availability, forecasting, and banking
  • Manage expense authorization process to ensure that vendor invoices are reviewed and approved by an authorized approver prior to processing payments
  • Ensure that balance sheet accounts are being reconciled and that any discrepancies between the ledger balances and supporting operational systems are researched and resolved
  • Management of staff, including hiring, coaching, and development of staff. Administrative tasks such as time-keeping and management of assignments
  • Evaluate department workflows and document internal control procedures
  • Develop plans for efficiency improvements without compromising accuracy
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to meet department attendance requirements
  • Ability to work effectively under departmental pressure/stress situations
  • Assist with Requests for Proposal for potential new client acquisitions
  • Review commission and bonus calculations for accuracy and consistency with programs' documentation
  • Performs other similar or associated duties as necessary to accomplish job objectives in an effective manner as assigned by Management or as responsibilities necessitate


Education/Experience Required

BA/BS in Business, with emphasis in Accounting

Prior leadership and management of accounting personnel

Broad accounting experience including ledger, GAAP reporting, research and analysis
