We're seeking a talented Controller - Operations Finance Manager to join our team specializing in Finance for our York, SC Cummins location.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Drive Strategic Business Decisions: Apply business and marketplace insights to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and support decisions that advance organizational goals and performance.
  • Provide Financial Insights: Analyze financial trends, variances, opportunities, and risks to deliver actionable recommendations that improve business results and support leadership decision-making.
  • Lead Accurate Forecasting and Planning: Partner with stakeholders to develop reliable forecasts, validate assumptions, and provide forward-looking financial projections aligned with business strategy.
  • Build Strong Business Partnerships: Collaborate across functions to influence decision-making, align stakeholders, and drive solutions that support organizational objectives.
  • Ensure Financial Integrity and Compliance: Maintain the accuracy of financial data, investigate variances, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and policies.
  • Communicate Complex Information Effectively: Translate financial data and business insights into clear, meaningful messages tailored to different audiences, enabling informed decision-making at all levels.
  • Drive Accountability and Execution: Prioritize work, remove obstacles, and ensure commitments are met while maintaining a strong focus on results, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop Inclusive and Adaptable Relationships: Foster collaboration across diverse teams, adapt to changing business needs, manage challenges effectively, and contribute to a culture of growth, inclusion, and high performance.


Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Lead Plant Financial Performance: Serve as the finance leader for the York, SC and Manning, SC manufacturing sites, providing financial guidance and insights that support operational and business objectives.
  • Build Strong Partnerships and Influence Decisions: Collaborate closely with plant leadership and the North America Accounting team to achieve strategic goals, support month-end close activities, and ensure sound financial decision-making.
  • Maintain Financial Controls and Compliance: Establish and sustain a strong control environment by ensuring accurate financial reporting, conducting balance sheet reviews, and driving accountability across both sites.
  • Develop Talent and Support Growth: Coach and develop a team of four direct reports while providing financial analysis and support for Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems strategic initiatives that drive business performance and continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.

Experience:
Significant experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience in a small operations manufacturing or distribution center environment.

  • Partners with plant leadership to ensure goals and strategic objectives are met
  • Partners with NA Accounting team on closing the books and balance sheet reviews
  • Supports CDBS strategic initiatives with financial data and analysis as requested
  • Responsible for coaching and developing 4 direct reports
