Full Job Description
Position Summary

As our Controller, you will own the accounting and control function end to end, building the systems, controls, and team that keep our books accurate, timely, and audit-ready as we scale across markets and geographies. This is a player-coach leadership role for someone who has run a close, stood up controls in a high-growth environment, and is ready to build a department from a small, capable core.

You will report to the Head of Finance and lead a growing accounting organization, including the Accounting Manager, Fleet Asset Accounting, AP/AR, and regional/international accounting resources. You will partner closely with FP&A, Field Finance, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and our parent company.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & Control
  • Own the integrity of the company's books across all US and international entities, and the overall accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records
  • Design, implement, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and the chart of accounts to support scale, auditability, and clean segregation of duties
  • Build, mentor, and lead the accounting team; set close standards, review work, and develop talent as the function grows
  • Serve as the technical accounting authority, researching and documenting positions under US GAAP and IFRS
Close & Consolidated Reporting
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close; drive continuous reduction in close timelines without sacrificing accuracy
  • Produce consolidated financial statements, balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow - with prior-period and budget comparatives
  • Oversee inter-company reconciliation, elimination entries, and multi-entity consolidation across all markets
  • Establish and monitor the balance sheet reconciliation and account substantiation process
Compliance, Audit & Tax
  • Own the external audit relationship and deliverables; lead audit readiness across jurisdictions
  • Ensure GAAP and IFRS compliance as we expand internationally, including FX translation and consolidation
  • Partner with Tax and external advisors on tax preparation, filings, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
Systems & Process
  • Own the accounting technology roadmap, including the ERP migration to a scalable platform (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar), sponsoring the implementation, chart of accounts mapping, workflow configuration, and data validation through cutover
  • Drive automation across close, AP/AR, corporate card, and reconciliation processes to reduce manual work and increase control
  • Rationalize banking and entity structure so transactions and payments route correctly across markets
Business Partnership
  • Partner with FP&A on the actual-to-plan bridge, pricing analysis, and the financial impact of operational changes
  • Provide leadership with reliable, decision-ready financial information and guidance on the accounting implications of strategic initiatives
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership and ownership of a full close
  • Deep technical foundation in US GAAP and experience operating a system of internal controls
  • Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting, inter-company transactions, and consolidated financial reporting
  • Experience with multi-country operations, including FX translation and scaling a rapidly growing business
  • Direct ownership or sponsorship of an ERP implementation (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar)
  • Track record of managing external audits and meeting tight close timelines without sacrificing accuracy
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Preferred
  • Industry experience in mobility, autonomous vehicles, rideshare, logistics, or fleet-based / capital-intensive operations
  • Experience building or scaling an accounting function at a high-growth or resource-constrained startup
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
