Job Title: Controller, Life Sciences

Department: Finance

Reporting to: Corporate Controller

Location: Danbury, CT

Greenfield is looking for a Controller, Life Sciences to join our growing team.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Controller, Life Sciences is a strategic finance leader responsible for overseeing the financial performance and operations for the Specialty Chemicals & Ingredients business unit. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, analysis and compliance. This role ensures the integrity of financial information and supports strategic decision making by providing key insights into business performance. This role is responsible for leadership, development and oversight for the US, Ireland and UK accounting teams.

Your Experience Should Include:
  • 10 or more years of related general accounting experience in a complex environment (preferably manufacturing)
  • Proven success in hiring, training and motivating an accounting team
  • Experience working with multiple entities in a multi-currency environment
  • Knowledge of MS D365 preferred but not required


Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly and year-end accounting close procedures, reviewing journal entries, accruals and other adjusting entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
  • Provide leadership and support for the US, Ireland and UK accounting teams
  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Continuous improvement mindset, assessing current accounting operations and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee preparation and review of tax returns including sales and other statutory filings and regulatory reporting
  • Key contact for external auditors related to the US, Ireland and UK entities in performance of interim and annual audit of financial statements
  • Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
