Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Our controllers are essential in managing the overall health of client engagements. This position is responsible for oversight of A/P and A/R, the maintenance and management of accounting records, monthly close, annual audits, strategic planning within the accounting function, monthly financial reporting, and coordinating with the client leadership team to produce adequate reports for internal use, Board of Directors, and Investors.

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Ensure US GAAP treatment where appropriate.
  2. Manage monthly financial statements ensuring timely completion and presentation to client.
  3. As requested, prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  4. Support higher-level accounting needs, consolidations, and intercompany eliminating entries.
  5. Responsible for overseeing allocation and tracking of depreciation, prepaid expenses, deposits, accruals, revenue, and payroll.
  6. Work with client management to develop internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
  7. Contribute to client financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  8. Work with client management to set and track financial KPIs
  9. Complete final review of monthly work papers.
  10. Oversee client engagement through management of internal teams.
  11. Support and develop relationships with clients while recognizing opportunities to expand client engagements.
  12. Collaborate across internal teams to enhance client experience.
  13. Understand the budgeted hours for each client engagement and monitor monthly.
  14. Attend, engage in and utilize company trainings on varied topics such as industry specific accounting, soft skills, engagement management, etc.


Required Job Skills:
  1. Working knowledge of US GAAP including recent pronouncements and proposed updates.
  2. Thorough working knowledge of varied accounting software, supporting tech stack (including third party payers) and Excel.
  3. Ability to work within engagement's budgeted time while maintaining attention to detail
  4. Respectful and collaborative approach to managing internal staff where appropriate
  5. Cooperatively work with other staff in a team environment.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to work in a periodically stressful environment, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to meet established deadlines.
  8. Ability to prioritize work tasks, effectively and efficiently allocating and managing time.
  9. Ability and willingness to train and mentor other team members.

10. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

11. Ability to solve practical problems, including interpreting and applying common

sense from a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

12. Ability to identify and assess client activities that may require further information, research, or guidance.

13. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

14. CPA Preferred
