Position Summary

GTS is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, audit coordination, internal control awareness, and operating company finance support. This individual will serve as a key operational finance leader, partnering closely with the operating company CFO and ultimately funneling financial reporting, analysis, and reporting packages to the parent-company CFO.

The ideal candidate brings strong Controller-level experience, a solid foundation in accounting operations and U.S. GAAP, experience supporting external audits in a public company environment, and the ability to remain hands-on in daily accounting activities while providing leadership, structure, and process discipline to the finance function.

Target base compensation is approximately $150,000 -$175,000, with flexibility based on experience, technical depth, and overall candidate fit.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including monthly close, reconciliations, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial results, supporting schedules, and management reporting deliverables.
  • Funnel financial reporting, analysis, and operating company reporting packages to the parent-company CFO.
  • Supervise accounting staff and provide leadership, coaching, and operational support.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve accounting processes, reporting discipline, and financial visibility.

Audit, Internal Controls & Public Company Environment
  • Manage external audit processes within a public company parent environment.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors and coordinate audit requests, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, reporting standards, and internal control expectations.
  • Identify control gaps, manage risk, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen the finance function.
  • Support audit readiness and maintain organized documentation for accounting judgments, reconciliations, and reporting support.

Technical Accounting & Transaction Support
  • Apply strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and accounting operations.
  • Support technical accounting analysis related to complex transactions, acquisition activity, and post-close accounting requirements.
  • Partner with external advisors, including anticipated future diligence support to prepare financial information and respond to transaction-related requests.
  • Support due diligence activities, acquisition-related reporting, and post-M&A integration needs.
  • Experience with purchase price accounting, goodwill and intangible asset accounting, and post-acquisition accounting is preferred.

Parent Company Reporting & Multi-Entity Coordination
  • Coordinate reporting activities across the parent organization, subsidiaries, and operating company finance resources.
  • Partner with accounting resources supporting India-based subsidiaries and other multi-entity reporting needs.
  • Support consolidation-related requests and ensure consistency across entity-level reporting processes.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, auditors, advisors, and parent-company stakeholders.

Finance Operations, Systems & Process Improvement
  • Help strengthen accounting infrastructure, reporting cadence, and finance operating routines.
  • Partner with finance leadership during the company's Accumatica ERP implementation.
  • Improve processes related to month-end close, reconciliations, reporting packages, and internal controls.
  • Develop scalable accounting processes that can support continued growth, acquisitions, and parent-company reporting expectations.
  • Remain hands-on and operational while bringing structure, discipline, and continuous improvement to the finance function.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility or comparable accounting leadership experience.

  • Experience working in or supporting a public company audit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated internal controls awareness with the ability to identify control gaps, manage risk, and improve financial processes.
  • Experience coordinating with external auditors and supporting audit requests.
  • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.

Preferred
  • CPA designation preferred but not required; certification would be viewed as a value-add given the current team structure.
  • Experience supporting due diligence activities, external advisors, and transaction-related requests.
  • Experience with purchase price accounting, post-acquisition accounting, goodwill and intangible asset accounting, and post-M&A integration.
  • Experience working within a parent company / operating company finance structure.

  • Operationally focused, detail-oriented, and capable of creating structure in a growing finance environment.
  • Strategic enough to support executive leadership, while still willing to remain involved in close, reconciliations, reporting packages, and audit support.
