POSITION SUMMARYThe Controller, under minimal management, provides supervision and control of the finance functions with a focus on month/quarter and year-end closing process and planning/budgeting/forecasting. This position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment making recommendations for courses of action for the business.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Manages the fixed asset system, calculates and books depreciation while ensuring compliance with corporate policy.
- Reconciles accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.
- Meets strict month end, quarter end, and year end close deadlines for journal entries and reporting.
- Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status.
- Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
- Assists with the management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting with the organization.
- Assists with preparations for audits.
- Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to GAAP and any applicable government regulations.
- Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Coordinates with and prepares reports for the General Manager and upper management.

- Multi-Site Responsibility for Batavia, IL and Sioux Falls, SD facilities
- On-site work required
- Candidate can reside close to either facility with monthly commutes to other facility.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in accounting
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, and general ledger experience
