Full Job Description
POSITION

Would you like to be a part of our team? If so, as our Controller you will:
  • Lead and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, closes, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and industry-specific financial reporting standards.
  • Review GL reports to ensure expenses are recorded accurately on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain and establish positive relationships between company and vendors.
  • Manage annual property tax assessments and returns.
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit.
  • Conduct quarter-end and year-end closings, including balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and account analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership and restaurant managers to support business decisions and operational strategies.
  • Assist/Maintain lease agreements and properly account for the leases under the new 842 standard.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to identify areas for operational efficiencies and profitability improvement.
  • Ensure proper cash management, including oversight of cash flow, credit, and debt positions.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and ensuring professional development.
  • Effectively utilize IT systems to improve the efficiency of the accounting department.
  • Implement process improvements as needed.
  • Develop and/or update finance and accounting policies.
  • Other duties as necessary or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or commensurate job experience with a proven track record of success.


EXPERIENCE:
  • 7 years in a management position
  • GAAP and Internal control framework
  • Managing Accounts Payable in a paperless office environment
  • Microsoft Excel user (Intermediate or Expert)
  • Report building/generation


SKILLS:
  • Must have a strong track record in being able to create new processes and facilitate process improvement.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and judgment and be able to work with minimal direction and in somewhat ambiguous situations.
  • Technical knowledge in accounting systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at various levels of an organization.
  • Ability to achieve progress on multiple tasks while exhibiting high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • CPA/CMA Preferred
