ControllerAngel Fire Resort is seeking a driven Controller to manage the financial reporting and budgeting of the company and oversee the finance and accounting department. Under the direction of the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the financial reporting, treasury, budgeting and forecasting, tax, accounting, and capital projects for the organization. To be successful in this position, you will have advanced proficiency executing functions within financial accounting software and will conduct all financial and accounting activities in accordance with GAAP and internal department controls. The ideal candidate has successful experience managing an accounting team, carries out all duties and responsibilities with upmost accuracy, and strives towards the overall success of the company. Experience working in a seasonal resort or large dynamic company preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:(other duties may be assigned) - Responsible for financial reporting, treasury, budgeting and forecasting, tax, accounting, payroll, and capital projects for the organization.
- Oversees daily operations of the finance and accounting department.
- Ensures staff is properly trained and cross trained. Responsible for the department's written policies and procedures and training manuals.
- Maintains proper accounting records and adequate internal controls.
- Produces all financial reports which summarize actual operating results and financial position of the company (balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements).
- Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget.
- Recommends and implements benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of the company.
- Works closely with the company's auditors on annual audits, tax returns and annual reports. Implements the auditor's recommendations and improvements to internal controls.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Other associated tasks & duties as required.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManages subordinate Accounting personnel, Payroll personnel, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable personnel, and Cash Audit department personnel. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Sage Software desired.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
