The Caterpillar OEM Solutions Business is a growing segment in Resource Industries with a mission is to provide derivative Caterpillar components, systems, and machines for OEM applications.  Our customers value OEM Solutions products because we leverage validated solutions and enable access to the Caterpillar dealer network giving the OEM products an advantage in the market. This role provides team leadership, project planning, budgeting and resource planning in Designing advanced electrical control systems and integrating electrical and mechanical systems.

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Controls System Team Leader candidate to lead the OEM Solutions powertrain and systems controls segments.  In this key role you will report to the OEM Engineering manager and have design control responsibility for OEM Solutions Powertrain and Systems Software and Electrical product lines.  This leader will work directly with end customers to architect new solutions integrating Caterpillar components and systems in their applications.  This leader will have indirect leadership of team members and will develop Powertrain & Systems solutions for our Power Module & Components business, integrating Caterpillar Industrial Engines, Transmissions, and Caterpillar controls systems for existing and new OEM applications.  The candidate will also Co-Lead powertrain technology platform projects to expand our product line and will have responsibility for Statements of Work (SOW) to secure resources for the key projects.  The candidate will architect, scope, budget, and manage controls projects with major OEMs and have maintenance and product support responsibility for those product lines. The candidate must have experience with Caterpillar transmissions and hydraulics designs as well as Caterpillar test and development experience.  A minimum of 10 years of qualified work experience with skills directly related to Caterpillar software and controls development tools is required for this role. 

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related curriculum

  • Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications; ability to develop embedded systems with varying levels of complexity to control the operations of the machine it is embedded within.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Additional Information

  • The location for this position is Mossville, IL.
  • This position will require less than 10% travel (domestic and international)


 

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
