Job Summary

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all steam turbine generating units, steam generating units, auxiliary equipment, etc., in the plant for a given shift.

What you will do
  • Demonstrate leadership in the area of safety.
  • Observe safety rules, policies, and practices.
  • Encourage safe work behaviors and promptly correct conditions and unsafe behavior which may lead to accidents.
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate values in complying with all environmental, safety and other laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that all aspects of plant operations remain in compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
  • Operate control equipment to obtain safe and proper operation of boilers, turbines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Start, operate, inspect and shut down all steam turbine generating units, steam generating units and all associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Observe and record pressures, temperatures and flows on all operating equipment; check to see that all meters and gauges indicate normal conditions for loading on units.
  • Operate switchboard and associated equipment to obtain safe and proper operation of plant and system electrical equipment.
  • Prepare logs and reports as required.
  • Inform the Operating Crew Foreman (where applicable) or supervisor of any abnormal or unusual conditions that may occur.
  • Performs troubleshooting activities related to plant operating systems.
  • Assist in cleaning and housekeeping of all plant equipment and operating areas.
  • Assist in training of employees.
  • Assist in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures to take equipment out of service and to restore equipment to active status.
  • Perform PM and may assist with maintenance work.
  • Perform all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
  • Must report to work fit for duty and free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.

Pay Range:

$48.54 - $51.35
