Job Summary and QualificationsThe
Contracts Manager II is responsible for managing strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships within assigned categories. This role supports the development and execution of sourcing strategies that deliver competitive pricing, favorable contract terms, risk mitigation, and member satisfaction. The position manages a portfolio with annual spend responsibility of approximately $50M-$100M and collaborates with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and member advisory groups throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing initiatives from market analysis through contract implementation.
- Conduct RFI/RFP processes, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal value and mitigate risk.
- Develop sourcing strategies aligned with organizational and member needs.
- Present sourcing recommendations and award decisions to internal stakeholders and advisory boards.
- Manage project timelines, contracting work plans, and documentation within Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
- Analyze supplier capabilities, market conditions, and category trends to support sourcing decisions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Account Management, Communications, and Contract Administration teams.
- Resolve escalated supplier and customer issues and support audit activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of business conduct.
- Meet or exceed annual financial and operational performance goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, or supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial models and supplier proposals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare sourcing and contract negotiation experience.
- Knowledge of category management, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management processes.
- Experience presenting to executive leaders, clinicians, physicians, or advisory boards.
