CONTRACTOR SERVICES SUPERVISOR (TRANSMISSION)

About The Position

The Transmission Contractor Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of vendor-based transmission line and substation electric and civil construction crews and the management of this work in accordance with applicable contracts and agreements, and investigation and resolution of stakeholder complaints.  Additionally, the Contractor Services Supervisor is responsible to assure that vendor's field supervision enforces all applicable Ameren policies, practices and safety rules.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide input to project planning and design.
  • Manage, develop, and evaluate contractor crews engaged in the construction, maintenance and inspection of electric system facilities.
  • Provide clear expectations for their performance, to include safety and quality through observations and audits..
  • Schedule, assign, and direct the work in a safe, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with the applicable contracts and agreements.
  • Maintain regular contact with contractor supervisory personnel to assess manpower, equipment, tools and material needs for specific projects.
  • Schedule, assign, and manage the work in a safe, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with the applicable contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor and control project budget and schedules to ensure that the proper resources are allocated so that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide budgetary cost tracking documentation and construction timeline schedules.
  • Document project scope changes and provide project updates as required.
  • Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, stakeholders, and other company departments.
  • Consistently enforce WPA, LOTO, safety rules and conduct Safety Observations with individuals and crews.
  • Consistently enforce appropriate corporate policies with contractor crews as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of department and function goals. Identify and implement improvements within the department to control costs and improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree preferred.Bachelor’s Degreein engineering or construction managementrelated disciplinepreferred.Five or more years of relevant experience in electric transmission orelectric distribution required, OR Five or more years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial or military environment including a minimum of three years in asupervisory or team/contractor leadershiprole required. Journeyman line or journeyman substation experience preferred. Utility experience preferred. 

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

The Contractor Services Supervisor’s work environment includes office and field. Overnight travel may be required, for multiple days per week, depending on location of construction projects.  Subject to call-out and overtime as required for emergency storm restoration and project work.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer skills, proficiency with mobile devices, and proficiency with project construction schedules required.  Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills preferred.  Must be adaptable and flexible. Project and/or Construction Management skills preferred. Basic knowledge of Oracle and ArcGIS, systems preferred.

Compensation Range:

$88,500.00 - $137,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
