RTX BBN Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO) / Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to join our Global Security Services - Special Programs team in Arlington, VA. This position plays a critical role in supporting a diverse portfolio of Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective security programs in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), contractual, and customer-specific requirements. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted security advisor to program leadership, employees, subcontractors, and U.S. Government security representatives. This highly visible position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple security disciplines and programs simultaneously.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as primary and/or alternate CSSO/CPSO for assigned SAP and SCI classified programs by implementing and maintaining security programs in accordance with DoDM 5205.07, ICD 705, applicable Intelligence Community Directives/Standards, Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), DD Form 254 requirements, and customer-specific security guidance.
  • Interpret and implement Program Security Guides (PSGs), Security Classification Guides (SCGs), DD Forms 254, contractual requirements, and Government security direction.
  • Interface directly with Government Program Security Officers/Representatives (PSO/Rs), Government SAP Security Officers (GSSOs), Special Security Officers (SSOs), and other Government security representatives.
  • Prepare for, coordinate, and support Government security inspections, self-inspections, compliance reviews, and assessments; develop and track corrective actions through closure.
  • Manage personnel security requirements throughout the access lifecycle, including nominations, access requests, indoctrinations, briefings, access maintenance, suspensions, debriefings, and terminations.
  • Process and maintain personnel security/access actions using DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles, and other Government or customer-directed systems.
  • Support the establishment, accreditation, modification, continuous monitoring, and de-accreditation of Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) in accordance with applicable physical and technical security requirements and develop and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), Construction Security Plans (CSPs), facility accreditation documentation, and other required physical security records.
  • Coordinate facility security requirements involving access control, intrusion detection systems, secure storage, penetrations, construction, and TEMPEST requirements with Government representatives, facilities personnel, and appropriate technical authorities.
  • Develop and maintain program-specific security documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OPSEC plans, emergency action plans, security test plans, and program protection documentation.
  • Conduct or support preliminary inquiries into security incidents, violations, adverse information, suspicious contacts, and other reportable matters; document findings and recommend corrective actions.


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressively responsible security experience supporting SAP, SCI, industrial security, Intelligence Community, and/or Government security operations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of DoDM 5205.07, ICD 705, and applicable SAP/SCI security requirements.
  • Experience supporting multiple security disciplines, including personnel, physical, information, program, and industrial security.
  • Experience interacting directly with U.S. Government security representatives and supporting Government security inspections or assessments.
  • Experience with classified information safeguarding, access management, security documentation, and incident reporting.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Current or previous Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
  • Prior experience serving as a CSSO, CPSO, GSSO, or SSO professional.
  • Hands-on experience with SAPF/SCIF accreditation, ICD 705, FFC development, CSPs, physical security, and TEMPEST coordination.
  • Proficiency with DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles, and related Government personnel security/access management systems.
  • Experience conducting security inquiries, developing corrective actions, and preparing formal incident reports.
  • Experience developing SOPs, OPSEC plans, emergency action plans, security education programs, and program protection documentation.
  • Familiarity with Counterintelligence, Insider Threat, Critical Program Information (CPI), and Operations Security (OPSEC) principles.
  • CDSE SAP/SCI security training, including SAP Mid-Level Security Management and ICD 705-related coursework.
  • Professional security certifications such as SFPC, SAPPC, or other SPēD certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, or related discipline.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
