Summary

The Contract Security Coordinator will be the key point contact in supporting and guiding the deal and project teams on security requirements for all federal government contracts. Their expertise in all security pillars of the Government of Canada Contract Security Program (CSP) will drive their guidance in support, and in the development of the BBM CSP department, including its framework and processes. Through strong leadership, communication, documentation, and agility, the role will navigate complexity and ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide security requirements guidance and support for all federal government contracts throughout the contract lifecycle (day 0-2, governance).
  • Lead workshops/information gathering sessions with internal and external stakeholders to interpret and identify contractual security requirements, implement compliancy protocols, and provide ongoing support.

  • Partner with multiple departments to ensure security compliance protocols have been implemented and are being maintained.

  • Share expertise on all Government of Canada CSP security pillars, to drive the development of the BBM CSP department including its processes, procedures, and frameworks.

  • Prepare internal process and procedural documentation, as well as, presentations for upper management.


Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the role of a CSO (company security officer) or ASCO (alternate company security officer).
  • Federal government Reliability and Secret level clearances.
  • Thorough understanding of all Government of Canada CSP security pillars: personnel screening, facility protection, handling and safeguarding information and assets, IT security, subcontractors, international security, and contract management.
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills to upper management.
  • Strong leadership skills in navigating complexity and influencing internal and external stakeholders, via workshops and information gathering sessions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong process development, mapping, and documentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret contractual security requirements to assist sales, procurement and support teams.
  • Ability to motivate others and promote team spirit and employee value.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Professional certification(s) in the fields of security.
  • Professional certifications in project management and business analysis.
  • Bilingualism required:In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada


Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
