Full Job Description
The Contract Specialist will provide contract administration and commercial support for a large-scale capital construction project, with a focus on contract compliance, commercial risk, change management, and claims avoidance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on prime contracts, exhibits, and governing procedures.
  • Interpret contract requirements and provide guidance to project teams.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks, exposures, and deviations.
  • Administer contracts from award through closeout.
  • Review notices, change orders, claims, and contractual obligations.
  • Define approval requirements, contractual boundaries, and escalation points.
  • Maintain commercial risk registers, contract records, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Contract Administration, Project Controls, and project leadership.
  • Support subcontract flow-down requirements and dispute avoidance.


Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Experience with contract administration for construction, engineering, EPC, or large capital projects.
  • Experience in semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, or other complex project environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial terms, change management, claims, notices, and contractual risk.
  • Experience working with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Central New York.

The salary range for this full-time role is $75,000.00-$100,000.01 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
