About the Position
Please note: The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $76,742 to $113,492, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

What You'll Be Doing
This position plays an essential role in supporting the Department of Health and Human Services by overseeing contract development, execution and management activities for assigned Service Areas. The Contract Manager provides technical guidance to program staff, ensures compliance with County contracting requirements and serves as the primary liaison between the HHS Contract Management Team, the Office of Procurement and the assigned program Service Area.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing solicitations such as Requests for Proposals, Invitations for Bids, Informal Solicitations and Open Solicitations.
  • Preparing and processing contract actions including new contracts, amendments, renewals and extensions.
  • Reviewing insurance requirements and coordinating approvals through the Office of Risk Management.
  • Maintaining and updating contract tracking tools and databases to ensure timely completion, accurate reporting and proper documentation.
  • Serving as the liaison between the Contract Management Team, the Office of Procurement and program staff by providing guidance, resolving issues and offering subject-matter expertise.
  • Conducting contract training sessions and providing technical support to program staff and monitors.
  • Responding to program inquiries and ensuring contract actions comply with County procedures and procurement requirements.

Telework: This position may be eligible for limited hybrid telework, after the initial training period and in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Considerable (3 years) of professional experience in contract management, legal writing, including drafting and editing contracts and amendments.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Medical Protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment Medical History Form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
Financial Disclosure Statement: This position is designated as one that requires filing a Financial Disclosure Statement and you will be required to disclose information about your financial affairs.

Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

Leave Benefits

Our generous leave package starts with non-MLS permanent and term employees earning 15 days of sick leave and 15 days of annual leave in their first year, as well as up to three additional personal days each calendar year.
