Overview

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Subcontract Administrator to join our team in Quebec/Saguenay. This role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.

Your role:

  • Lead subcontract management and implement systems, processes, and tools to manage all Prime Contract and Subcontract obligations.
  • Develop, draft, and maintain Management Plans, Procedures, and Processes, including standardized templates and approval workflows (DoA).
  • Establish and manage key project registers (Change Orders, EOTs, Subcontract status, payments, and other contractual requirements).
  • Negotiate subcontract terms and departures, securing required approvals for material changes and overseeing complex/critical subcontract packages.
  • Manage upstream Adjustment Events, including entitlement assessments, contractual correspondence, and preparation of schedule/cost impact substantiation.
  • Assess subcontractor progress claims and invoices, ensuring compliance with the Construction Act and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Support financial governance, including accruals and collaboration with Project Controls for accurate monthly forecasting.
  • Lead dispute avoidance and resolution, including managing subcontractor disputes and coordinating external processes (adjudication, arbitration, litigation) when required.


About you

  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in Senior Contract/Subcontract Administration or Contracts Management.
  • Proven experience in large, complex, civil construction projects is essential and experience with electrical, mechanical and trackwork is of benefit.
  • Strong MS and Excel skills and experience in JD Edwards, Aconex and ProCore is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze high volumes of information and make judicious and timely commercial decisions.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting contract requirements in various contract formats and a strong understanding of the Construction Act and Ontario Law.
  • Proficiency in drafting concise, accurate, professional correspondence.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes is required along with strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills on English.
