Full Job Description
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will coordinate processes and lead the execution of continuous improvement strategies of the site. You will identify, scope, drive and deliver results for CI projects; responsibilities include project selection, scope and overall assignment, launch, prioritization tracking and deliverables.

You will be located at PPG's Gainesville, TX Plant and will report to the Plant Manager. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and deploy CI development plans and set goals responsibilities.
  • Define, maintain and align KPI targets with site business strategy.
  • Work with leaders, engineers, and operators to coach/mentor CI methodologies. Ensure the instruction and use of key best practices (e.g., LSS, kaizen, DMAIC, GB/YB, 5S, value stream mapping).
  • Conduct LSS Assessments, define action plans to close gaps and track execution across departments.
  • Work with Operators to ensure they are appropriately trained
  • Aid Operators to drive improvement in manufacturing efficiencies using best practice CI tools/techniques.
  • Align with Quality Assurance to deliver robust and cost-effective end-to-end processes.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other suitable technical field, Master's degree preferred
  • 5 years+ proven experience with LSS/Continuous Improvement experience required, in a chemical / food / manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • Black Belt certification preferred
  • Willingness to travel throughout region at least 50% of the time
